Walker Roofing

I received a bid for a new residential roof on 4/12/2021 for $18,250. I signed the contract on 5/25/2021 with Greg Harste and gave him a check for the down payment. He called the next day and said that they had made a mistake on the price and it would now be $27,000. He sent my down payment back and I then contacted three major companies in the Twin Cities and they were all around $19,000. I'm happy with my new company and roof and now have them roofing my Corporate Office. Buyer beware of Walker Roofing. Not a professional company.

I needed a roof inspection as part of a home inspection. I only had seven days to do it. I called Walker roofing; they assured me they could do it, and they would call me back to schedule the appointment. They called me back to confirm the address, then nothing. I called again; they assured me they would call back within the hour, they escalate it to their management. Nothing.

If their work quality is as bad as their customer service. Three days later, I called another roofing company. They inspected my roof within two days, I got the results in the afternoon, they got me as a customer.

As a 55+ single woman who has never replaced a roof before, I was extremely impressed with every aspect of my roofing project with Walker Roofing. Cory Z, my sales rep, was amazing, always available for my numerous questions, or to make changes to my quote (added the shed at the last minute), always responding promptly, even at 10 pm! Chris, who handled all communication for Joe, my job coordinator, promptly sent emails indicating when the materials would be delivered, or when we had to deal with a rain delay, and was flexible when I had conflicts. Again, a pleasure to talk to and never too busy to take my phone call! Juan and his crew showed up promptly when scheduled, worked hard all day, and were incredibly neat about the entire process.

I have only found 3 nails on my entire property when they were finished - and no little shingle pieces or wrappings either. Very impressed! Note that I treat my trade workers well. I bought them lunch, and when they were done, I tipped each of the workers $20. And treating them well pays off. A week after the job was done, I discovered that one of my gutters was leaking on my new windows, and Cory was able to get Juan's gutter crew out in less than a week to install a new one (a job other companies did not want to bother with since it was only a single small section).

I am thrilled with my new roof (and gutter), and am waiting on the MG inspectors as I write this, but I expect no issues. I specifically wanted to use GAF Timberline shingles after my research, and I did purchase GAF's extended Silver Pledge warranty. One of the reasons I chose Walker is because they are a Master Elite installer for GAF products, so I knew the job would be done right. And, best of all, Walker has the lowest quote of the four companies I had bid on my job. I would highly recommend them!

Apparent satisfactory roof install in November 2015 with 5 year guarantee. Now roof leaked and Walker had 2 week delay in repair. I had temp repair done and asked Walker to estimate complete roof replacement three or more weeks ago. Have not seen or heard from them since, Beware! Service: Roof installation

I hired walker as they stated how long in business. i had some other contractor at my house two years later who was a sub for walker. he pointed out shoddy work they had done which could cause me leaks. i contacted walker and they hesitantly came out and spent two days doing what should have been done in the first place. i was two months short of my three year warranty. i am so lucky to have had this other contractor. also i had several other contractors out who told me the work was not done right. i would never recommend walker

We were very happy to have Walker do the roof and gutters on our house. Andy was exceptionally helpful and hands-on in the process, making sure we got the exact roof we wanted. When we wanted shingles that were hard to find in the Minneapolis metro area (GAF Grand Sequoia Impact Resistant), they went the extra mile to find samples for us. They did a beautiful job with the portion of our roof that required a rubber roof.

There were two minor things that I didn't like visually about the roof, but, rather than just telling me that was just how a normal roof would look (which is what my neighbors told me), Walker changed it and made it look awesome!

Walker Roofing is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. They communicate well, work with the roofing vendors to handle issues that are not necessarily theirs to deal with, provide excellent service, and are simply great to deal with. Friendly staff and fair-priced service, they also deal with insurance companies for claim-related work, and will respond to any issue, large or small, that I bring to them. Great company! This week I developed a basement leak and suspected it had to do with one of our drain spouts. Because Walker installed our leaf guards a few years ago, I gave them a call for advice. They still had me on file and noted that Cory had installed the guards. I appreciated the personalized approach. Cory called me back promptly and was able to fit me in the same afternoon.

He ended up staying an hour and diagnosed the problem which was actually not our gutter guards nor drain spout. I am very grateful for Cory's "can-do" attitude. Friendly, helpful, and prompt service goes a long way!

Sela replaced the siding on the home I rent recently and they did not live up to their advertising. They destroyed the flower beds around the home and their clean up effort was a joke, I found over 200 2 inch siding nails scattered around the home and driveway. My advice is to hire some one else!

Walker Roofing is fantastic and reasonable. Ian was prompt with their estimate and explained the differences of shingles and the application. Walker did my brother's house a few years ago and did my son's house last year! Their crew is neat and professional and highly qualified, everybody knows what to do. No down time. We just purchased a home in Maplewood. Ian came our before we close, gave us a price, and guaranteed the price for Spring! The house is ours and Walker Roofing is going to roof our new home. After roof damage from hail storm in 2017 I employed Walker Exteriors to replace my roof. It was a pleasure working with Ian who was polite, responsive, honest, and efficient. The workers that repalaced the roof were polite, professional, and did a great job with the roof and clean up. I will employ Walker Exteriors again in the future when my home needs exterior updates/repairs. Thank you to all at Walker!

To any one considering Sela roofing: I have always heard they are one of the best in town and I found that to be true. We had our flat roof replaced by them recently and a few years ago, they repaired the same flat roof ( done by another company ). Both times, wonderful job! We should have used them in the first place! If money is an issue, it isn't because of all the headaches that are involved with leaks.
